Command and Conquer: General is a real-time strategy video game and the seventh installment in the Command and Conquer series. It was released on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X in 2003 and 2004. The Windows version of Generals was developed by EA Pacific, released by EA Games, developed by i5works for Mac OS X, and released by Aspyr Media. The Mac OS X version was re released by Aspyr for the Mac App Store on April 12, 2004. In the game, players can choose from three different factions: the United States, China, and the Global Liberation Army (GLA). Generals use SAGE, an extended version of 3D commands and conquest tools: Traitor. In 2003, an expansion pack called "Command and Conquer: General - Zero Hours" was released for PC and 2004 for Mac OS. The general and Zero Hour both received positive evaluations. The sequel Command and Conquer: General 2 is currently under development until it is ported to a free game called Command and Conquer. The new game is part of the Generals series and was cancelled by EA on October 29, 2013 after negative feedback during closed alpha testing. Game Configuration:
